In Washington D.C., Michael Lantz made works for the Federal Trade Commission constructing. Public art deco sculpture was nearly all the time representational, usually of heroic or allegorical figures related to the aim of the building or room. The architects of the Vienna Secession , especially Josef Hoffmann, had a notable affect on Art Deco. Hoffmann was also a founding father of the Wiener Werkstätte (1903–1932), an association of craftsmen and inside designers working within the new type.
